RiskSMART accreditation with BCC

East Coast Surveys has now been accredited by Brisbane City Council for Risksmart for houses as well as subdivisions. This fits in well with small developments that are trying to retain an existing house that ends up on a smaller lot. This can sometimes trigger council to require a further approval for a “small lot” house. East Coast Surveys can now deal with both as a Risksmart application if they comply.

The Risksmart process is an initiative of council to allow accredited consultants to prepare complying applications to go straight through to the delegate/decision maker without the need for information requests or other delays. Council aims to give an approval in 5 business days. The planning consultant checks that the application complies with all criteria in the planning scheme and advises the council delegate of suitable conditions for an approval. This is a great process for small low risk developments and East Coast Surveys is pleased to have now achieved that level of capability.
